I'm android so no idea how the damus UI works / looks.

NOSTR is basically a publishing protocol, you publish events to your relays which are basic social media actions.. publish, follow, like, set a relay, etc.

To collect the list of people following you, you have to check everyone else's events (not just your own, and the people you follow). You also have to check the relays that they may have published that follow to.

For these reasons.. the lists of who is following you are fairly unreliable, and can jump around alot (not sure of that has gotten better recently).

Also.. a few tips.

Your feed will mostly be people you follow. So follow alot.. if you find someone you like you can check the list of people they follow, and their followers.. should find alot of familiar faces.

May want to try a few paid relays as well, they aren't expensive (couple dollars) and cut way down on spam, so if you toggle just the paid ones on and go to global feed you can find conversation outside your circle without much spam.
