There’s a very complicated relationship among and between the various nations in Asia. South Korea and Japan have benefited greatly under the “protection” of America. The question that none seem to ask though is protection from what, exactly.

China talks a big game but contrary to what is discussed in the media the CCP has zero interest in expanding its territory. The ruling party, however, is no longer willing to accept global hegemonic rules by the States. The so called “rules based order”. China and a growing number of other countries see very clearly that those rules only apply in one direction.

Long story, short, there’s no more appetite for hypocrisy. How this all ends up playing out though is what concerns me.
