The overwhelming majority (2/3) of the minerals Trump was asking for are in Donetsk & Luhansk Oblasts. These are in Russian control & will likely be ceded to Russia in any eventual peace deal.

About 1/3 are found in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast which borders Donetsk Oblast.

Trump was looking for a means of recovering US spending on Ukraine, which would have delivered US economic incentive to protect these areas from Russia.

Trump did not want WW3 so he did not commit US military.

Zelensky threw that away, because he believes the globalist-controlled EU leaders will save him.

Let's see what Europe does, besides bluster & bloviate.
