Now that’s an idea.
I thought about this since before Uber was a thing and the main problem is that you need a critical mass in one location. Uber was started in London I think. Big city. They paid drivers to just be available and gave riders free rides with a huge budget to kick-start it.
Here in Chile, InDriver was for free but Uber took 25%, yet the 10 available InDriver drivers were usually 20min away while Uber was 5min away, so all abandoned InDriver ... and Uber increased their cut above 40% last I heard.
The network effect is really hard to overcome and you have to start in some location with a massive marketing budget.

**Is there a zoom/teams-like nostr-based platform?
I think something like that would be so helpful for folks who'd want to offer online classes or group therapy sessions for those of us suffering from major PTSD from losing our keys at such devastating boating accidents.
Not mocking real PTSD sufferers here, considering I have a brain injury from trauma myself, so leave your judge's robes out the door...
A technology like this would be so awesome for face-timing loved ones w/o having apple saving everything...
Or for online events where attendees can participate....
Like...we could have partied celebrating the halving together, for those of us who couldn't afford to travel.
**I had written a plan at one point for an Uber-like service for caregivers & caregiving-needing clients matching & scheduler service.
I, of course got busy with my demoralizing, soul & body crushing day job and I can't find the damn files on it anymore.
I have no coding or whatever skills, but I had spelled it out nicely to a coder a few years back and they were amazed at how doable it would be and the service/profit making potential.
I work full time and I'm in PST time zone.
If anyone is ever curious about discussing this, just reply here. Sorry, I don't do DMs cus, honest? I just get weirded out.
But once we get to know ea other a bit, then we can talk about DMs.
I'm not too selfish to not put out out here in the open, but my "free time" and my energy levels aren't in high supply, so I can't quite just spell it all out here if folks aren't interested at all.
-In short, it'd be similar to Uber, but for caregiving for seniors & people with physical disabilities.

I was, but drivers and users I tried to convince to use it were skeptical about the P2P aspect lol.
