What changed though, to bring it back. How would I know which relay? Can i see that somewhere myself?

Depends whay client you are using but some have decent transparency to show you which relays its pulling from to show you your profile. What client were you using when you saw the old info ?

But somehow my lightning adress got changed on damus and i changed it back a few days ago.
It looked like it got deleted and just some bs put in.
Now that ive put the right one in zaps work again, it didnt for a while.
the events for these are "replaceable" meaning that when a relay sees a newer one it throws away the old one. they don't always get them though, they aren't automatically propagated.
https://nostrsync.live/ is a tool that rebroadcasts all your stuff to all the relays it knows about, which is most of them. they won't all read them but any that have old profile events will update after this.
Thanks ill see if that works for me, but its still really complicated for the average user.
