You haven't understood Bitcoin yet. The value of bitcoin only matters if you need to obtain the smallest quantity. The smallest possible quantity is your threshold to entering. Everything above that is convenience.
That is, I have to correct myself here, the fees may become the threshold because it would prevent using the currency.
I do think long term the fees could hinder or deter price sensitive users or nations.
