If I truly want to understand cryptography, I need to be willing to stop learning about Bitcoin for several months, possibly longer. For all I know there’s another rabbit hole I must dominate before coming back up and focusing on Bitcoin.

The rabbit hole tests and builds our time preference - as spending 2000 hours on Bitcoin without really understanding cryptography will Be quite limited.
