It's weird, the English love those things, the French use them considerably, and then there's the Germans who have some actual hesitancy by European standards.

They're popular in urbanist circles due to view that they better for calming traffic while maintaining thoroughput without the need for four way stops, but most Americans *hate* them. It's been a fun discussion in Urbanist Twitter where non-drivers love them, and drivers hate them...
