Agree with all of this. It has potential to be a massive improvement - it already is in many ways. But trust in third parties to some extent seems inevitable.

And I think this is fine. Social media probably doesn't have to be purely decentralized to fix a lot of the big problems with it. Controlling your own data and speech and being to take it with you wherever you go on the internet is a massive improvement.

The ability to vote with your feet is also vital. Don't like an algorithm in this client? Switch. Don't like the blocklists on this relay? Switch.

The concern about shared blocklists between major relays is real. But I have to believe that a *demand* for relays that don't participate in the censorship will drive their development. #plebchain #nostr #[0]
