DIY is the way out 🔑

I don't hate on all AI art. It's a tool and depending on how you use it, it can really expand a person's ability to express their own visions.

I can't draw for crap, but I bet I could take the time to tweak an AI image generator to output an image that I find acceptable, and that would take a lot less time than drawing something.

But... That just ratchets up my respect for those who develop that skill.

AI can provide utility, but I don't think it can (yet?) capture beauty as well as a gifted and trained artist.

Most of the "Old Masters" in oil painting had apprentices and employees to "fill in the blanks" on the canvas, while the master did the key focus points.

Stable Diffusion is an apprentice that will never be a master, but it can still satisfy 50%+ of the demand for artist-hours without any loss of quality.
