Working to hear the scorcher that today is supposed to be. Flipping #compost again. Still fumbling my way through, but it is looking decent...I think.

I’ve done one 18 day pile that didn’t work well (I needed to keep going but went on travel and it died).
This year I did a class with nostr:nprofile1qqs2rlzal4lleatrezg4tdrxw5d4srg3tcfkutuvjr5fzvu9h0kmrncpzamhxue69uhhyetvv9ujucm4wfex2mn59en8j6gpzamhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuumfv9khxarj9e3k7mgru3am6 using his modified bioreactor method. That one takes a year to fully mature so I’m excited to see results in Feb. It’s a bit more work up front but then just watering from there. If you have the time and space, seems like a good modality to try out.
My plan is to have a couple bioreactors for next season and use the Berkley Method for this season. I have one reactor so far but it is tipping over. There is always something to fix!
Awesome! We’re getting our first micro herd of 8 hair sheep tomorrow. Excited to start learning how to rotational graze.
More and more convinced compost + grazing is the key to a homestead vitality. Living soil is paramount.
