I am really talking about much broader centralized apps and walled gardens. Ecash can be very useful for people who have no infrastructure.

I don't think so as they are stuck in the ecash bubble. It's not accepted in the real world. Lightning is rarely acceptes but ecash... There are better ways in the Bitcoin world.
Monero would be the easiest.
