It’s amazing how a free speech platform has given us the exact opposite of what we were told it would. πŸ€™πŸ»πŸ’œπŸ§‘

Bingo, it's crazy how I see way less toxicity here than on any traditional social media platform. Nostr kinda reminds me of Facebook's early days, lots of cool memes, people discussing stuff and having fun, no social justice warriors deciding who lives and dies, no obscure algorithms deciding what content I should be shown or not. I sincerely hope Nostr and similar projects keep on growing.

It is amazing but does that change when the user base grows? I’m quite interested to see how any legitimate legal cases (libel/hate/etc) will be dealt with on a decentralised protocol.

I'm curious to see that too, but the fact that data is spread throughout several relays in different countries would make content very hard to remove even with judiciary action, also identifying the people posting it won't be easy thanks to the fact that nostr doesn't require any kind of identity data from users, but time will tell.

Yep, for all those reasons. Will be a popcorn moment.

Damn now that we are talking about it I also remembered the good old days when you could still create and account anywhere without having to input half a Bible of personal data, one more point for Nostr πŸ˜
