My 4th of July mead primary is now 12.5% ABV and tastes HOT. More gravity readings this weekend to see where she stops.

That's close to rocket fuel man! Not bad for a ferment.

Does it warm your mouth & throat like a port/liqueur? Is that what you mean by hot?

This is the first time I have tried a TONSA nutrient feeding schedule with degassing and oxygenation. I screwed up the schedule a tiny bit (fed yeast twice in one day), but doesn't seem to have adversely affected the health.

I'm still developing my palette and dealing damage to my smell/taste from COVID, but by hot I meant it just tastes boozy. Still surprisingly drinkable for less than a month in the primary.
