I think we need to realize that starting to pay for services ends the control of those above us that we say noster is providing... By constantly thinking everything you want should be free, you are destroying everything that could make you free.

Good point, if the premise is that services has to be paid for through a subscription model, for the service to exist

Did streaming services ever outcompete torrents?

Did paywall news ever out compete free news websites?

One is user funded, the other is advertising funded

Perhaps we should think in the direction of advertising funded?

Subscription models never reach mass adoption

Or perhaps people should pay sats for every post/repost/like?

With the sats going to the node operator. That way there is less incentive to spam, but users can still view the content without having to pay anything, hence the content is still available to anyone

And those sats becoming available to the node operator only once the content has been hosted for let’s say a month, that way node operators have an incentive to not remove the content until it has already been widely shared
