But seriously, people at the high levels of government are probably smarter than I am, they are just playing for stupid prizes.

Yeah, but people in the higher up positions are nefarious, and since all things work to the Good, nefarious people still lose, even if they have a lot of horsepower under the hood. Is that circular logic? I need more water.
