nostr:npub1gcxzte5zlkncx26j68ez60fzkvtkm9e0vrwdcvsjakxf9mu9qewqlfnj5z is secretly excited for nostr:npub1xtscya34g58tk0z605fvr788k263gsu6cy9x0mhnm87echrgufzsevkk5s to launch Damus for Android so that Will can get my bug reports and complaints, taking away some of his load 😂

A dev can only dream

Lol 😆

Imagine if they combined forces and worked on the same client. 👀 I like Damus (it's the client that got me on Nostr) but Amethyst has way more features and runs smoother.

Amethyst runs smoother? First time I’ve heard this.

Maybe it's my iPhone. But for some reason my Damus takes forever to connect to relays and load content. If I scroll too fast it crashes. I'm on the Testflight by the way. Damus is still my iOS client.

Try reducing number of relays to less than 10

Also appstore version is newer, try that as well

Really? That’s literally the fastest thing about Damus. It connects and load all the notes in probably 1 second. And I’m not exaggerating.

Sad thing is that Damus Android is so much faster than iOS at connecting. i think damus ios networking is subtly broken for some reason.

It’s even faster on Android! Damn.

My experience:

Primal (web and iOS) needs at least 10 seconds.

Snort.social : 5-10 seconds

Damus literally 1 second. What’s even faster than 1 second 😅

Damus Android is definitely in the “instant” range, less than a second.

I don’t like the reconnect time of iOS, it sometimes takes a few seconds. Will fix this.

Can confirm. When you showed me in Madeira it was damn near instant.

Amethyst runs smooth for the first 60 seconds after a cache clear and then it is pretty jittery 😂

How many relays are you using?

16.

Ok, I have 9 and everything seems to run pretty smooth with Amethyst.

Same here, never cleared the cache

I clear cache daily, if not every other day. Otherwise it lags and crashes.

Amethyst from play store or foss apk?

It's not relays amount issues. It believe it's because I have a shit ton of followers and follow a lot of people. Or at least this is the excuse developers have told me in the past.
