I will never understand the appeal of influencers with medical and teaching creds like Andrew Huberman especially when they take his advice as some sort of gospel.

I don't get it.

He's still trying to sell something. Himself. He is the brand and a product who happen to have a diploma to show for it.

That applies to all influenzas, luv 😜🇬🇧🚒😎

Well some or most use their cute face and body to promote, he uses his science and teaching creds to do the same.

I always question the credibility of any influenza (and the wannabes) from any field. Especially if they have the spare time…

This is a great typo. Motion to rename medical influencers to influenzers

Oh maybe it was deliberate…

😉

We are all trying to sell ourselves. If not, why are you making this public post?

Because I can.

Perhaps, don't give me attention if that's what you believe.

What I mean is, everyone of us has their incentives to make a public piece of content. When deciding if you should pay attention to their content, first try to figure out what their business related incentives are, then decide if thats ok with you or not.

I not questioning his motives. Of course he's in it for to get attention and make money otherwise, don't have sponsors.

The basis of my original post is not directed at why he does it, I'm questioning how people believe in him so much to give him their time and money.

Because they feel they are being provided value at a good price. And they might feel that his incentives are aligned in a way he wont lie to them.

I think that's the problem.. they feel.

Exactly… but we all buy according to beliefs and perceptions. Theres no way to be 100% sure.

this is a tard take.

maybe drop the we.

He is from Princeton where a lot of CIA operatives stem from.

Stanford dog

Oh yeah. Got confused.

lol! It’s always the CIA.

Btw: Stanford University

INFLUENSOR transformation complete!

Whoa. Ain't that something.

Indeed!

It's crazy to me, and I know I'm not exempt from this, but people just LOVE being told what to do. I know there's not just one factor (school system, parenting styles, work, etc.) But man, people just turn their brain off and listen to whoever is in front of them.

Agree, he's a brand but I really like his explainers. If he can sell himself without selling us to drink bleach I'm totally fine with what he's doing.

the guru worshipping generation.

Like bitcoin, information, tv, medical advice, you name it.. is being decentralized. People can choose who they want to follow, in the end.. the smartest/fittest will survive. Based on the correct choices.
