Tailscale offers end-to-end encryption, and is built on the WireGuard protocol. Tailscale essentially lets you create a mesh VPN, but the only difference is that it is for the devices in your home — think of it is a private internet.

Check out Holesail.io ! More like a port forwarding tool than vpn, but its p2p (pears.com) and, crucially for me, still works when I turn vpn on to torrent. Great for effortlessly connecting to something away from home, and all you need is your private key
