One friend is very much concerned and really angry about the tx-list data.

In his case, in the past all buy-transaction gave one confirmation called ‚gekauft‘ and then one confirmation ‚erhalten‘. That way he tracked his buys in the app.

For three months now, suddenly there is no confirmation for ‚erhalten‘ for each ‚gekauft‘ confirmation anymore. So he panicked a bit and we had to calculate that the total quantity is shown right.

It is but his trust in Relai/Bitcoin is gone now.

These friends are noobs I try to teach about #Bitcoin and they learn slowly so this kind if bugs are terrible for first buyers or beginners. I think they should always have a message in the app e. g. that „currently some data in the app might be wrong due to a bug but Bitcoin is always safu in Relai app“ or similar.

I fully understand their frustration and believe this all is down to Relai being taken off the Apple App Store, making the users unable to update their apps.

I also understand the lost trust in Relai. Not in #Bitcoin though. On my phone I'm having multiple wallets for testing purposes as well as to guide friends and strangers I've orangepilled in the past.

I have loaded the Relai backup seed words into Bluewallet. Whatever would happen to Relai app, I'm able to use the bitcoin that was "in that wallet".

Do these people know they can use different apps and still access their #sats?

The suggested message is an excellent idea (I have already forwarded both notes up) but I guess with users unable to update, not easy to implement into their phones.

I truly hope they will manage to get the app on the Apple store again soon, unfortunately this much more depends on Apple then Relai.

Probably it‘s correlated to the app-store problem.

Yes, I used the current situation for more education. They both know now. So this little drama has turned kind of good eventually. ⚡️🧡

Thank you.

More education is always good. I usually make the newly orangepilled person to write down their keys (while I'm standing far enough not to read it) and once they receive some #bitcoin from me, install another wallet (usually Bluewallet or Blockstream Green) and restore from the newly created backup.

This way, they understand that the #sats are not inside any wallet but listed on the blockchain and that it's really, really important, to keep the backup safe.

Thank you for understanding Relai's struggles, they are working hard on fixing it.
