I've uninstalled Damus after it kept loosing my relays regularly. As I'm leaving the walled garden anyway, there was no compelling reason to put any more time into figuring out what was happening. I really liked it tho. Maybe we'll meet on Android someday, but until then, Amethyst looks like my mobile client for now.

Try Nostur. Had the same issues with Damus. Never on Nostur. Even better: in lucky case, Nostur shows a pop-up to restore contacts when coming from another app. Hint: wait some seconds before clicking something… Furthermore, you can easily save a backup…
