Yesterday I learned that 33% of the beef farmers in our town quit cattle recently.
That means there is two of us left.

and what is the exact reason for that? have they got retired or it is not a good business over there?
The last locals that have quit in recent years have been in their 20s, 30s and 40s, so it’s definitely not retirement😅
Agriculture is mostly planned economics in Norway, and the prices were adjusted down from ~75 to ~50 in the last two years while costs have gone up.
No matter how much you love what you do, that doesnt work in the long term.
