It is astonishing to me that it is almost 2025 and IT security is conspicuous by its absence in most companies.

The famous so-called Industry 4.0 with its IoT devices is an insecurity paradise.

I can think of a business model, although I don't know if it is legal, to stop production in factories and then offer security services 😂 .

You might have discovered the standard business model of the entire sector.

Just don’t do both under the same „brand“ 😉

The most standarized protocol is OPC-UA and although its datarate still slow, security wise is really good.

But EtherCAT has room to become a standard as well.
