What happened to you?
I moved back to Spain because of family stuff. Moved into a new place on the 5th. Made a contract with the ISP 1&1 on Oct 5. Cancelled it on Oct 7 because their system somehow ignored the "started kit" a pen-drive with 50GB till your connection date. Made a new contract the same day and was given Oct 19 for the connection day. Last night I received a SMS that they moved the connection date to the 26th.
I can get internet in Spain within 3 days and that's 500MB symmetric and not some lame 100MB/60 MB in a CITY in the technology country Germany. They literally just fucked up an entire weekend of streaming including my b-day stream.
But that's just the ISP. A lot more going on. I cannot wait to leave this place again and I say that as a German... go figure.
With 1&1 you have choosen the crown jewel of germanys internet providers ;-)
But i fullg understand.
We serioudly considering getting out here as well but for more serious reasons.
Would be glad if it would be just the internet connection.

No. buy my sister visited a week ago and on the way home the train stopped 3 stops before reaching her destination for "technical reasons" and her husband had to jump out of work to pick her up.

Nothing progressing after being here for 2 months including an ISP who takes three weeks to connect your internet then sends you an SMS on the connection date at 00:19 and postpones it to the 26th.
Banks give appointments two weeks away to open an account (unfortunately need a German one). Government agencies, ISPs and pretty much everyone else is "discriminating IBAN" if they don't start with DE which is against the EU SEPA banking regulations.
You need a TaxID (which isn't the same as your tax number for pretty much everything you want to do. You know, track the shit out of what you're doing. Doctors don't give you appointments because they only accept customers with private insurance or give appointments to those who show up from social services with a cost coverage letter etc etc. I could go on for a while.
If it wasn't because of my mother I'd be back in Spain by now. Oh, and weed is 5x more expensive than in Spain and of course illegal in this country.
Welcome to European bureaucracy
I never had things progressing this slow in Spain and that's EU. A mountain village in the middle of nowhere being more advanced than "technology country Germany" is something to write a book about 🤣
From my one time family visit to Germany I can say with confidence that it's a 1st and 4th world country at the same time
