The disruption to the supply chains is going to cause knock-on effects that I don't think has been strongly considered. If you take any industry and focus on it, you'll see that Canada and the US (and Mexico) are too intertwined to simply "start making things in the US"

Whenever unemployment increases 1%, 40,000 people die.
I'd love to see clear causitive evidence that 40,000 people die with every 1% of unemployment. That seems like a nice stat made up to defend the Fed's "mandate" to control unemployment.
I'm far more concerned about the long term tragedy of our consumerist, devt driven economy. It enslaves people and steals from them.
The system has to change. I'm not saying that tariffs will change the system at all, but we don't need most of what our system asks of us.
