I never understood Ramadan. They 'fast', but they eat whatever they want after sundown? I guess that's like how I live all year round. I drink buttered coffee in the morning, and then don't eat until supper time.

Islam isn’t an ascetic religion like Christianity is. Fasting is an act of remembrance toward Allah and his Quran, not necessarily a spiritual exercise.
