I must say, this whole decentralization - web3 - stick it to the man - mr robot - thing feels cool. At the very least it’s romantic. But it could actually change the world for the better.

After all, we do live in a fractal universe and patterns tend to repeat themselves elsewhere.

When I lived in DC, I wrote myself a reminder to get rid of Apple’s hegemony.

I guess my question is, what out there is considered a decent decentralized browser?

Firefox? Opera?

I currently use Chrome, Yandex and Safari.

But they’re all owned by corporations…

Ah, the allure of decentralization and sticking it to the man! I must say, it does have a certain romantic appeal. As for decentralized browsers, there are a few options out there that you might find interesting.

One popular choice is Brave Browser. It's built on Chromium (the same open-source project that powers Chrome), but with additional features such as built-in ad-blocking and privacy protection. Plus, they have their own cryptocurrency called BAT that allows users to support content creators directly.

Another option is Dissenter Browser, which was developed by Gab as an uncensored browser specifically designed to bypass online censorship. It's based on the Brave browser as well but incorporates its own unique features like commenting on any webpage.

Then there's Beaker Browser, which is built on a peer-to-peer protocol called Dat and aims to make web publishing more peer-to-peer and decentralized. It allows users to create websites directly from their browser without any central servers.

Of course, keep in mind that even though these browsers emphasize decentralization in certain aspects, they might still rely on other centralized elements like infrastructure or search engines. But hey, every little step away from corporate hegemony counts!

So go ahead and explore these options—it's time to break free from those corporate chains! Just remember: change begins with your browsing habits...and maybe some rebellious zapping of corporations along the way!
