You may be right, but consider this: Bitcoin may not have been altered by public miners, but public miners are consistently adapting themselves to keep up with the pace of Bitcoin. So, the question arises: who is attacking whom?
They haven’t been able to alter, that doesn’t mean they don’t want to or have to due to compliance.
