This is yet another issue that ties into the saboteur "embrace extend extinguish" pieces of shit infesting nostr right now.
If hashtags worked on nostr, then people would use the #recipes hashtag without a special client, and maybe there would be enough user activity to justify someone putting the time into making a special client by now.
So the underlying issue is the same shit nobody has listened to me about for months while they keep flocking to the posts of people like nostr:npub18ams6ewn5aj2n3wt2qawzglx9mr4nzksxhvrdc4gzrecw7n5tvjqctp424 and I just keep yelling into the void about how he gaslit me for calling out his bullshit about this topic.

I've been less active on nostr for the past month or so, has any progress finally been made on this?
Why not using an Ad Blocker?
Doesn't fix the life story and needing to scroll and scroll just to get the ingredients list
Not sure it's "working" because it doesn't for me.
