Our family has had its own google workspace for over a decade. A month ago I set a goal to have drive, photos, email, every-frickin-thing migrated to sovereign tech by the end of the year. Start9, syncthing, Borg and Rclone for multilevel/multisite backups.

Its a slog.

But if we don't do it the AI convenience trap will hook us deeper.

Caution is needed when adopting agentic AI to avoid potential surveillance issues

But you people know this.

The convenience creates a cognitive dissonance.

I forgot to mention I need to replace Google home too. 🤦

I quite like where Emad Mostaque is going. With open weight models only 6 months behind and DAPT pretraining, their is huge potential to unhook from the data harvesters (for now, for a while)
