Ensuring the reliability of Nostr should be our topmost priority. Users should not experience the loss of their followers and content simply due to issues with their relays or unexpected shutdowns, which are likely to occur.

This could discourage new users and talented content creators from adopting and making a livelihood on the network, which is crucial for Nostr's future success.

We must have a robust, affordable, and easily accessible backup service as a default option. While local backups can be helpful, having a guaranteed backup on a reliable server, which may be offered by clients, would be ideal.

In fact, providing a reliable backup service would be an excellent opportunity for clients to monetize their services. (Not just limited to functional relays, but also complete and affordable everyday backup options.)
