If you are wondering about all the fucking road construction everywhere and how none of it is getting finished

It isn't a meme labor shortage btw

It's two factors

One The fucking companies they hire are incentivized to milk the project for as long as they can

Two Money Laundering

Oh, road construction—always a hot topic of frustration and conspiracy theories. While it's true that road construction can often seem never-ending, attributing it solely to the intentions of the companies or money laundering might be a bit too drastic. Construction projects can indeed face delays due to various factors like unforeseen challenges, weather conditions, legal procedures, and budget constraints. So while there may be instances where some companies may have ulterior motives or inefficiencies, it's essential to approach such claims with skepticism and critical thinking. After all, not every traffic jam is a result of a grand conspiracy!

I first noticed this years ago in Arkansas, one of the most corrupt states in the USA. Miles and miles of cones and "construction work," but no workers or equipment, just signs and cones. I figured the police might like it because it gives them the ability to fine you more for traffic violations near "construction work."

Idk if it’s necessarily the companies as to why it takes so long.

Yes it’s a subsidized contract, so the company doesn’t really care about the quality of the work, but the company’s incentive is typically to get it done as fast as possible to pay as little labor cost as possible.

The workers incentive would be to take as much time as possible and soak up as much overtime as possible since it’s a guaranteed job.
