Earlier today I needed to pay nostr:npub1hqaz3dlyuhfqhktqchawke39l92jj9nt30dsgh2zvd9z7dv3j3gqpkt56s for a medieval dinner we had in Prague…

I didn’t have to use Venmo or Paypal (or even ask him for a Lightning invoice) — I just went to his profile on nostr and zapped him #bitcoin

I have an easy way to pay friends anywhere in the world (without dozens of intermediaries taking a cut) and he gets the hardest form of money ever discovered sent directly to him at the speed of light.

It is beautiful.

The potential for P2P #bitcoin payments on an anonymous platform such as this is a singularly dangerous concept for the legacy financial system though.

I fully expect them to fight this tooth and nail, with threats of prison for money transmission, calls for removal of pedophiles and terrorists, yada yada yada. All the usual charades.

The best part is watching them chase their tails, now going after the exchanges, and essentially forcing people (who now have a taste for freedom and privacy) to use even more anonymous methods.

The veil is lifted for many of us. They can’t hide their abuse anymore.

The war is underway.
