Replying to Avatar BitBees

Need an air horn too. Bears have to be within 10’ for bear spray to be effective. Ten feet? I would have cardiac arrest before the charging bear got within 20’.

It's more like 7-10 yards. You are definitely going to have some adrenaline on board.

Bear bells absolutely work too. I have seen drone footage of a bear walking up a trail, hearing bells from 1/2 mile away, leaving the trail until the people pass, then going back to it's business.

Have you heard the joke rangers tell when tourists ask how to tell black bear scat from grizzly scat? The ranger says grizzly scat has bear bells in it.
