Roughly, in jest. I read the Bible cover to cover twice by the time I was ten. Motivation came from an abusive mother with a belt. Having a photographic memory, I think I have a fairly good grasp on the dogma as well as the wider scope of human religious cultural backgrounds. Generally, I have no desire to unseat a belief pattern that brings peace and comfort to a believer, I do think that blind faith is potentially dangerous and that analysis and skepticism are important components to any belief pattern.
Discussion
I don't think a ten year-old is going to really be able to empathize with much of the content.
I still don't understand large portions of it.
Absolutely correct, the data was and is still there in my mind. At 29, with substantial study in anthropology, I made a decision about the religion my family chose to indoctrinate me with. They still choose to believe and I do not.
