> What is the origin of the name Amethyst?

The name is a tribute to the human experience in Nostr. Amethysts get their purple color from impurities on an otherwise well-structured, and thus transparent, quartz. In Nostr, humans are the impurities that give life to an otherwise rigid and boring protocol.

> What is especially making you be fascinated & interested in developing Amethyst on Nostr?

The chance of piggybacking in each other's network effects to integrate all forms of applications in a single user profile. Nostr is our best chance to get a Twitter app to send an Instagram post, a Slack app to send a TikTok, a Google Doc app to write to a Music player, a Twitch app to send an Email, and a Tinder app to get a prescription notification from your doctor. They will be all facets of the same app.

> What's your vision for the future?

Amethyst will be the cornerstone of the Nostr experience in Android. Our goal is to support all other Nostr applications through our own interfaces. A meeting place for all types of Nostr events. A way to integrate them all while empowering each of them to push their own user experiences forward
