aluminum casting is more for maintaining shape ( think engine block or macbook chassis ) not bearing load. that doesn't mean it won't bear a load if thick enough. just that it isn't optimum use of material. nobody builds bridges out of aluminum for example. anyway only Spergs like me think about that stuff.
