I used to ptpudly identify as a skeptic and an atheist, until I socialized with skeptics and atheists and realized what a cringe numbnuts I must have looked like.

Although I'm pretty sure I just don't like what any rigid, judgemental ideology does to me and what it especially does to groups of people.
if your belief system is determined by the social aptitude of others you aren't really a skeptic are you?

This is why I say "culturally idenitfy". There are self-idetified skeptics who are just following a prescribed set of behaviors and ideas, like "progressove sciencism". It's not coincidental these people are usually running from some toxic religious environment. Many are just falling into established patterns, looking to be told what to think; not how to think.
Yeah these folks just want a tribe to belong to. They forsake one and take up another.
