Oh man I didn’t expect a Lunduke response.

There’s truth to a lot of what you said.

I run OpenBSD and Slackware for similar reasons, but can’t avoid the Linux kernel issues with the latter

haha, i'm not familiar with Lunduke

i wish i could run freebsd but the hardware support is even worse, and bsd devs are crazy

I’ve accepted that I can’t agree politically, emotionally, even intellectually with anyone.

I can pick the best available tools and accept they too have reasons to protect what they do.

i agree with Dylan Thomas:

Do not go gentle into that good night,

Old age should burn and rave at close of day;

Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

things weren't as bad when i was a kid, and they were still bad then, but it's got completely out of control these days

it is fortunately a principle of nature, described very well in the Tao Te Ching that things that become too full, eventually must tip over and empty out

but i still can't help but point it out because the worse it gets the more inured people seem to be come and it drives me crazy

Right up your alley with everything you’ve stated

haha, yeah, man, i really hate gnome since they started with version 4

idk why this guy likes firefox tho, i'm very happy with brave, it's one of the few fixtures in my kit that has been reliable for now going on 5 years, and it puzzles me why nobody else in browser dev has implemented a feature like Brave Sync. despite their shitcoinery they do actually seem to care about security and privacy... i'm glad they have managed to keep abreast of the endless attacks on users with their work, but hell i'd probably pay a subscription for a premium version that has some extra features and polish
