This is the first rooster i've had, so nothing to compare to. Lately he has shown some signs of aggression, but hasnt actually attacked. If he does, he's gone. Havent had any of my hens go broody. I get all the chicks i want from a friend who hatches them. But i've been very happy with how they lay.

When I used to have chickens (Buff Orpingtons) before I developed a lung sensitivity to chickens and had to get rid of them, I would pick up and handle my rooster a lot to keep him tame and let him know who was in charge. It worked well for me, but was only a year or two.
