In 1941 Australian Intelligence "Warned the US government about an impending attack by the Japanese Navy on the island of Hawaii".

Without trying hard I could write a dozen headlines in the same pattern, WMDs in Iraq, the RMS Lusitania in WWI, etc..

Do you really think any of this bullshit is new? 🤷‍♂️

Ah journalism.

What is the bullshit here? That Japan attacked Pearl Harbor? Ukraine blew up the pipeline? That there were intelligence reports?

That we always pretend not to know and we always use it as an excuse to get involved with war.

My favorite lie of the day was that the CIA advised Ukraine not to do it.

Yea I just can't bother anymore for anyone needing that explained to them. 😹

Sure they did right? 😝 Probably like Willy Wonka in the Chocolate Factory,

No, don't, stop, don't, sigh.

The best case one could make, and it would mean ignoring stuff like this, is that CINCPAC or at least ONI knew the US was actively intervening against Japan’s invasion of China and *didn’t* have the forces ready for something like this at anytime. That’s either arrogance, incompetence or wanted it to happen to give us an excuse. I lean more towards the last even without stuff like this being on the table.

On the bright side I get to tell people I was born on a day that will live in infamy.
