I read you can maybe avoid it if you switch to a paid plan. But no guarantee from my side. They do this on some algo shit. Sometimes it is only a captcha and not mail or sms.
Hotmail. They'll at least let you receive email without a phine number or other email address.
Or an a temporary email service like sharklasers.com or mailinator
Yeah. It's stupid. You need to have an email address before you're allowed to have an email address.
Can't be done without JavaScript these days, hence I prefer to just use nostr
(Nostr requires JavaScript too, but if I'm gonna be stuck with JavaScript it might as well be for nostr instead of email)

they don't give you any issues signing up from Tor browser.
Still probably requires JavaScript to sign up which means it won't work at safest security setting in Tor browser
