I'm trying to buy some bitcoin via Wallet of Satoshi/Moonpay using my Visacard but get told that the transaction can't be accepted. As I understand it is not my bank that is declining the transaction but Moonpay. What could be the cause of this? I have no previous experience with Bitcoin at all.

Are you trying to buy a lot out just a little?

A little. What equals to 44 usd

Idk if they have a service line - but I’d be happy to walk you through picking some up on robosats if you’re inclined. It’d be a few more steps but I know it works and the privacy would be better.

I think I will read up a bit on Bitcoin first - but thanks anyway 🙏

There are lots of people including myself who would love to help so don’t hesitate to ask. It does take some learning, using usd in its various forms of course does too. 🫂

Thanks again, nostr:npub1nwhdqvfh6g2t86pnqkdf86m3ea89c6ejyhlhe5g9wk2lvpsgss6qed409r I have already learned a lot today where I have set up a wallet and tried to purchase some Bitcoin - even though the purchase didn't go through.

Thanks, for the Zaps, nostr:npub1nwhdqvfh6g2t86pnqkdf86m3ea89c6ejyhlhe5g9wk2lvpsgss6qed409r 😎 I'm learning. I understand the philosophy behind Bitcoin perfectly - but the technicalities is going to take a bit of time to digest.

I probably would never buy through my card, but it would be easy to know where the fiat went and who bought the Btc.

But there's no accounting for taste.

In my case it was not a matter of taste but of ignorance 😎 What would you recommend, then?

Robosats is easiest imo. I’ll be interested to see what nostr:npub1c0cj4x59hm4yd6nrrj2k22shuqknhjlyw773wzf4pushupkzzvqsjelp5x suggests.

I'm making it quite complicated via Monero, but there will definitely be some services without KYC and with the option to buy via a payment option other than a personal credit card.

At the end of the day it probably doesn't matter anyway, unless you're like me and some others in the space.

I'm more confident this way that even if something goes wrong with the current scheme, I'll still have some assets outside the scheme.

Already once when the Russians "came" to our country and started expropriating land.

What guarantees me that the state won't want to expropriate my Satoshi that I bought with Czech crowns/euros because they won't like that it was with their Czech crowns/euros
