Poland’s #cashless Society is such a great progress! 🙌

No cash?

🤡 Genius! Because nothing says "#freedom" like every single transaction being tracked, stored, and monetized by banks and tech giants.

Power outage?

🤪 Who needs to eat anyway? Cashless means you can starve in style while waiting for the servers to come back online.

Financial autonomy?

💩 Overrated! Let’s all just hand over control to algorithms and central banks. What could go wrong?

#CBDCs?

🤯 Absolutely! Because programmable money that can be frozen, restricted, or deleted at the push of a button is *exactly* what humanity needed.

🐏 With such happy, obedient sheep lining up for their digital leashes, it’s no wonder the #EU’s clueless bureaucrats are cruising through their authoritarian plans.

Slaves in love with their slavery. #bitcoin cannot fix this.

Don’t listen to his bullshit… I am visiting Poland almost every year and never have I expirienced a problem with cash payments.

Only problem I had was to obtain cash as there are fewer ATMs than I am used to.

In Czech most banks operate their own network, but in Poland they are using more “co-hosted” ATMs which result into less ATMs available.

But no way I would describe Poland to be cashless society. Not by a long shot.

I live in Poland & can confirm that cash payment might be an issue. They don't refuse cash yet, but I am frequently asked whether I can pay with card with the claim that they do not have enough change which might be true considering that almost everybody prefers to pay with card.

Regarding ATM's, we also noticed that they are getting fewer and fewer.

You live in one of the larger cities? I was almost everywhere from Sczeczyn to Gdansk, Poznan to Warsaw, Krakow, to Wroclaw,… Warsaw was the worst for cash, but other than that it was really ok… not any worse than in Czechia and we hold strong position on cash - we also endured Communism, as well as you, Poles.

I think it is more related to age, older people still pay with cash, but young ones do not even use card, they just use their phone (google pay or apple pay).

Friendly reminder:

only 2 months ago I shared the following post about the dangers of a #cashless society.

I hope the black outs in Spain and Portugal has awaken some people!
