You won't attract people to Nostr if all you talk about is Nostr and/or ₿. We sure as shit didn't do that on Twitter in the early days of 07-09. We were more locally focused, meeting IRL, while branching out globally. We held events like Festival, and Tweetups. We saw people using it for cool new things like market prices of grain in third world countries. It was cool tech in it's limitations based on sms 140 characters and only desktop or text to a phone number. It merely asked "what are you doing?"
Then the corporations jumped in. The marketers. The advertisers. The influencers. The journalists. They really ramped up in late 2009 into the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games. Vancouver is a startup hub and very tech forward. Where Vancouver has embraced Twitter and was now hosting the world it really pushed it (and when the luger died in practice runs did that ever go global!).
But one thing Twitter people didn't really do back then was talking about Twitter or getting more people on Twitter. It was all very organic. They just put their handle on business cards and sides of vehicles/billboards along with FB/IG/YT. That's when it became a marketing tool. More and more "professionals" took over. We lost intimacy and connection in a chase for falsified clout and influence. And that's when the innocence of Twitter died.
Twitter was vibrant in its nascent years with real people making real connections on real issues and real collaborations. Nostr is that and so long as you continue to engage with substance of value it will remain so and attract like minded. VFV is more than zaps... It's the content you provide to attract the content creators you would want to hang with.
