There's no dead lock, lnd just refuses to implement it. Cln has it, ldk is close, eclair is starting

Bolt12 doesn't fix this btw. Your client app still needs to periodically fetch invoices & pay thrm, bolt12 or lnurl
Yeah I think nwc is better suited for subscriptions
