But then we could have also hardcoded (yes, everybody hates hardcoded, but I like hardcoded) pubkeys of important people, or pubkeys of important people calculated through some other means.

Instead of hardcoding who's an important person, why not show who I follow that follows that person. That why i'm deciding who's important to me instead of you being the king maker
