I'm considering using sats to buy a NAS and a set of good matching drives because I'm nervous about further data lost considering 2 drives suddenly failed on me. Anyone willing to talk me out of it. Do you have a better suggestion?

I've been running a NAS for a decade and a half. Would recommend.

Donโ€™t do RAID5 because of the rebuilding risk. Mirrored RAID is much safer if you choose RAID at all. And buy your two drives from different manufacturers so they are less likely to fail at the same time. Also, plan to backup the data on the NAS to something/somewhere else periodically.

One is none and two is one. Make sure you back up your backups ๐Ÿ‘
