Look back at the last few years and his interviews/posts/comments. They’re all tailored to the tenor, time and intended audience. During the Biden admin he was careful to steer clear of bitcoin being a threat to the financial system and talked about digital property. Now the admin just doesn’t seem to differentiate between crypto and bitcoin so he’s talking to them in terms they will relate too. Even his messaging when on a pod mostly consumed by plebs is night and day compared to the messaging when he’s on a national broadcast and the target audience is much different. Sure he could publicly slam the admin and say “bitcoin not crypto” but does Trump seem like the kind of leader that becomes more willing to talk if you call him out? His mission is obviously to drive adoption. You may disagree with his tactics but the goal is obvious. He’s willing to use the gears available rather than the starry eyed gears we all wish we had. You don’t orange pill state actors by screaming “down with the state.” Even if that’s the goal you do it through the back door. You spread sedition through the populace while convincing a few high ranking members of the apparatus who have been disenfranchised to unknowingly aid in the effort while slowly winning them over. Most of these tools are blunt instruments that you wouldn’t actually want to know what you’re up too but they’re in positions that are advantageous to the overall goal. Speak to them in whatever way moves the goal forward with the understanding that when they lose their usefulness they will be discarded. These blunt tools aren’t the revolution anyway but rather just the most prominent signs that the effort is bearing fruit. The revolution is the spreading of sedition through the populace. The revolution is, and always will be, the plebs willing to either turn and fight unbelievable odds OR go dark for years on end quietly building and spreading the sedition further. It may feel too down now with big institutions and governments joining but that couldn’t be further from the truth. The only reason they’re here is because of us.
