The difference between email spam/internet ads versus spam on Bitcoin is that the marginal cost of the former is zero and the latter is not.
Thus, any friction added to deter the former is much less effective than friction added to deter the latter.
It ideally becomes more and more expensive to "spam". Unless you have a money printer 😉
